A mobile hairdressing or beauty business van be incredibly versatile, with the possibility of specialising in niches like bridal or theatre work later down the line.
Whether you want to be a beautician or a hairdresser, you need equipment in the form of make-up brushes, hair scissors and hair dryers as well as mirrors.
What you charge should be based on the price of your overheads such as products and time (including travel time) as well as how much experience you have. Your charges will also likely be applicable to the average prices in the area that you’re working in too.
To start your beautician business, you’ll need an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in every speciality that you offer. Check with your local authority to see if you need a licence as they may want to monitor your health and safety standards. Finally, you must make sure your insurance covers each of your treatments.
In the early days, you can hire an apprentice to help you out with more basic treatments.
